Recipe in Arabic: سلو

Sellou is a delicious Moroccan delight made mainly during Ramadan and other celebrations. It is made of a varieties of nuts and flour. This recipe is also called: Zamita, sfouf and sallou. The recipe is very easy to make and should not take a long time to prepare. Simply follow these steps:


Ingedients

  • 1 kg of flour
  • ½ kg of roasted ground almonds
  • ½ kg of roasted sesame seeds
  • 1 table spoon of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of gum Arabic
  • ¼ kg of butter
  • 150 grams of honey
  • 100 grams of roasted almonds (whole)

Preparation

  1. Bake the flour until it becomes slightly brown and then place it on a large plate
  2. Add roasted sesame seeds and roasted almonds, cinnamon and gum Arabic and mix everything
  3. We add butter and knead the mixture very well until the butter is absorbed
  4. Add honey and mix again
  5. Place the paste on a plate and decorate with full almonds (picture)

You can slightly change the above ingredients and preparation for Sellou to match your needs and taste.
